Not working

I purchased this app and downloaded onto my iMac (OS X Yosemite 10.10.4) but it doesn’t work. I double clicked on it and it doesn’t open/start. The “support” is non existent (there are no answers to any kind of technical issues). There is an email at the bottom of the “support” page that I used to email the developer about this problem, but no answer yet. Poor customer service. Upsetting.

Takes the strain off the eyes

I could immediately sense the difference as soon as I turn this app on. So far I have been enjoying this app, but there is a small glitch. When the screen loads back after a screensaver there is no orange tint even though the app is still turned on. It sort of blinds you for a minute before you turn off the app and turn it back on for it to work again. Please look into this. Thanks for a great app otherwise!

Great App need to launch from top Macboob menu bar

This app is great for people with trouble sleeping that need amber light to block out blue light before bed. You can cange and adjust the amount of orange and bright to dark in the settings. I found out you need to launch this from the small Candle Icon at the top of the Macbook screen once it is installed, its weird it will do nothing if you try and run it and click on it from Applications, You need to click the candle and Turn Candlelight On.. :) Enjoy Great app

Glitches out

I can’t figure out how to file a report or uninstall this app, but every five minutes, it turns itself on. Very annoying.

fantastic

this is a must for anyone who works at night

Very useful

I tend to stay on my mac way too late at night. The light definitely wakes me up (when I should be growing tired) I noticed a drastic difference within just a few minutes of turning on this app. The best thing is to be away from a screen at night but if one insists on sitting in front of a screen then do so by Candlelight.

Definitely worth the price

Excellent app! Just what I needed.

This app is great!

This app is awesome. I am glad it is back in appstore.

Buggy

When I quit Candlelight or turn it off, it accidentaly turns the orange coloring on on my Macbook screen, though my external display is not affected. I couldn’t figure out what process should I kill to stop that. I tried to launch Candlelight on, turn the coloring on and off, but after a minute or two my macbook screen becomes orange again. And Candlelight still thinks it is off.

Light-sensitive eyes; relieved pain from eye strain immediately!!

I am always up late studying…18 credits was a genius idea this semester…and my eyes were really starting to bother me; to the point the pain and dryness from the eye strain was detracting from my productivity. Out of desperation tonight, I started looking for a Mac version of Night Shift for iPhone. I came across this app, but the screen was so orange in the picture preview I wasn’t sure I’d like it. IT IS AMAZING!!! It’s easy to turn on and off with the little icon in the status bar on the top of the desktop (near where the internet connection/strength appears), and you can adjust the brightness and the saturation of the orange with the little icon too which makes it easy to adjust as needed. MY EYES WERE IMMEDIATELY RELIEVED!!! I can work in a dark room and my eyes are not straining. I only wish that I thought to get this app sooner. Good price too….$2 to relieve my eye pain? Yes, please!!

The golden veil

This golden veil filters the blue light and becomes a curtain that prevents this wavelenght to get into my eyes. Good for nocturnal writers like me, who also deserve a good night sleep...

not far from perfection

The app is simple, it does the work. It will be perfect if it can automatically turned on at night, with smooth transitions

Trippy

I can feel my rods and cones adjusting when I switch this on. This app lets you adjust the brightness and contrast and is well worth the price.

Better than orange glasses

Ive used orange glasses when reading and using a computer at night for years. I also used to have an orange screen to put over my laptop when reading/working at night in bed (left it in a hotel by accident). Not only did the orange screen help me fall asleep, but it kept the computer from disturbing my wife. However, Candlelight works perfectly for both and it is so much more convenient than either the glasses or the orange screen. I want to thank the developer.

Doesn’t load or work

Though this application show up in my fox of application it does not open or function. When I click on it nothing happens except for the closing of the whole application menu. There is no discernable effect on my screen, and it appears the application is not even opening. I’m dumbfounded and just don’t understand why it doesn’t appear to be loading at all. By the way I am using Maverick. The support menu has no instructions or help for this issue.

Remove the blue light

This app is wonderful for eliminatiing the blue light from the computer screen in the evening. When I first installed it, I had not noticed the small icon in my task bar. Once that was pointed out, this little app has transformed my evening computer use. Thank you Oliver.

Not as feature rich as I’d like

Decent app. Wish you could set personalize times to have it automatically turn on and off instead of having to do it manually and getting blinded at night before you change it.

A Timer?

Hey, I love this software. Great for reading before bed on my macbook pro. My problem is I forget to turn it on until bedtime, but it would be good to start it sooner for sleep purposes. What if there was a notification built in that could ask me at 9pm (or whichever time I choose) if I would like to turn on Candlelight? Then I would only need to click yes in order to get those Melatonin juices flowing.

Like it, but it has issues.

It works most of the time. Really takes strain off the eyes. There is glitching though when browsing web pages. The screen will go back to normal for a few seconds and the brightness will blind you. Fix this and it will be just fine.

I just wanted to say thanks..

Thank you for creating this app!! I write a lot. Ofdten 20,000 words per work.. and that’s just what people pay me for. I write often on my own.. All those hours on the computer were killing my eyes. I started getting migraines and had to wear my tinted shooting goggles if I had any chance of working for more than a few hours without getting a searing pain in my eye. (Sorry if it is TMI) Anyway, it was miserable. In deperation, I googled the problem and this app came up. It was less than a buck, so why not try it.. oh my goodness… not only was it very easy to use but as soon as I turned it on, I could feel my eyes relax. It is wonderful!! I couldn’t recommend Candlelight more.
